Root cause: A scheduled deploy of widget JS reached most edge locations on time, but a single region experienced a slower cache invalidation than expected.
Resolution: Manually purged the affected edge cache and added an automated post-deploy verification check that fans out across all regions before marking the release as healthy.

Root cause: A periodic data refresh job exceeded its execution window after an upstream source rate-limited our crawler. No incorrect data was served — readers continued to see the previous day’s validated dataset.
Resolution: Increased the per-source backoff window and split the refresh job into smaller parallelized batches so a single slow source no longer blocks the rest.
Resolved in 25 minutes
Root cause: A query on the affiliate dashboard regressed after a database index change, causing landing-page load times above target for logged-in publishers.
Resolution: Reverted the index change and reintroduced it during a maintenance window with a corrective query plan. Added a synthetic check that alerts when dashboard p95 latency drifts.
